So I went to the dentist today 'cause it's the last time my dad's insurance will pay for it. I haven't gone in like 4 years so needless to say it was painful. I'm not a big fan of flossing. I'm rarely uncomfortable (hey awkward's the new cool right?) but this was just terrible. You're lying there in this vulnerable position with a giant light on your face like they're gonna interrogate you, this lady pearing over with a mask on, and this really sharp metal poking thing that just feels so intrusive.... Ugh. Anyway, what was most concerning to me was the x-rays. So they lie this giant led blanket on you 'cause they don't want the xrays to harm your body, but then they fire the damn thing at your face. WTF? Shouldn't I wear a helmet or something? That's my brain back there. Not cool.

Anyway, no cavities and my teeth are in great condition. Apparently I brush really well... flossing not so well. I had my last dinner with my parents. We shared a nice bottle of Valpolicella so the day didn't totally suck.

So off to London tomorrow to do it up one last time with the boys and then off to Texas.

Goodbyes Suck.

So this week in the midst of trying to power through 6 finals I had to pack up my life and say goodbye to a lot of close friends. Anyway, here are a couple pics that I took throughout the week.

Youth 006

These are the boys I mentored over the past 2.5 years in my church's youth group. From the left we have the hockey stud, the emo rock band guitar player, yours truly, and mr popular.

Youth 011

After youth group some of us leaders head out to jack astors for some beer and nachos. Hey, being a youth leader is hard work! you need a little somethin' at the end of the day to wind down. Anyway, here are some of us doing just that.

Youth 001

My favourite co-workers. I'll update about them later.

Youth 012

My bible study (minus Kev) hangin out for one last pitcher (or tap 'cause we were at the taphouse) before I head off. Next time I see them again two of these boys will be saying "I do".

It won't be too long when I start using this xanga thing to update my friends in Canada instead of yall down in Texas!

Peace

Sausage Fest for Jesus!!

So this weekend my bible study attended Promise Keepers in St. Catharines. If you're not familiar with promise keepers it's an all men's christian conference. It was kind of a bitter sweet moment for all of us 'cause it'll probably be one of the last times we get together. Three guys are getting married and I'm most likely moving to Texas. We've all built into each other through our previous mentors and I think we'll all branch out and lead our own bible studies next year. These guys have been incredible.

Promise Keepers 008

This is a group photo we took together when everything was done. At the end of the conference all of us were on our knees praising God together. It was a really moving moment.

Promise Keepers 004

Kev brought a cooler full of beers for our time in the hotel! I love heineken.

Promise Keepers 003

Dinner.

Promise Keepers 002

Canada is full of dutch people (which I have grown quite fond of) and Mike is as dutch as they get. Enjoying his heineken. He just released his CD in Canada. He's got an incredible voice and is getting pretty popular on the Christian Canadian radio stations.

Promise Keepers 001

Chillin' in the hotel room. There were 7 of us in this tiny room with two beds. We had pizza and beer for dinner. Needless to say our room smelled terrible.

I'll probably give another update with some funny stories of what happened over the weekend (I'll introduce the boys at that time). I've been busy studying and I don't feel like being funny right now. So just enjoy the pictures.

So I figured it was about time I started using this thing again (I’ve given up facebook and I really have no idea what to do on the Internet anymore). Anyway, I thought I should update and tell everyone where I’ll be and what I’m doing in the next couple of months. Chances are we’ll probably get to hang out… which is awesome for you ‘cause I’m kind of a big deal. Haha.

So after I finish my exams I’ll be heading to New York with my pops for two weeks. I’ve been there before but I only got to see some soccer fields. So this time should be a lot more fun. I can’t wait!

After that, I’ll be heading to a remote city in Quebec and immersing myself with a bunch of French people. I’m really not that big a fan of the French but they did invent poutine so I should cut them some slack. I’ll be there for a month and refining my Francais. If I do end up working in Canada being completely bi-lingual is important. Plus, my dad said our next trip will probably be to Paris and I would love nothing more than to meet a beautiful Parisian woman and have her make fun of my Canadian French.

Three guys in my bible study are getting married in June so I’ll be spending that month in London. Plus two more weddings in Ottawa. My roommates keep making fun of how early Christian couples get married. I think it’s more a Canadian thing ‘cause I don’t know anyone getting married in Texas.

July and August I’ll be in Texas! I think Alby has a Keith Urban ticket with my name on it. I’ve never been to a concert before so this should be fun. By that time I’ll hopefully know whether or not I’ll be staying. Right now I could live anywhere in Canada or the US (the benefits of dual-citizenship). Am I Canadian or American? Well, when I pull the fence out of my ass I’ll let you know.

Either way I’m definitely going to have to buy some more summer clothes. I think I own two pairs of shorts. According to Titus, my basketball shorts are too short so I’ll have to get some giant basketball shorts that fall thee quarters of the way down my leg. Weird.
